Property Description
In the heart of the town, 30 seconds from the Duomo, you'll find a real hostel and not one of those re adapted apartments that call themselves 'hostels'. Here all things are considered, is also the cheapest because our prices include everything and there are no surprises , as it could happen, to have to pay extra on breakfast, Internet, linen, towels and 'taxes' (even our pictures look exactly like our hostel ! ). The reviews from our guests say everything, so we leave it to our reviews to do all our talking for us.
The only rules we have are: to leave empty the hostel from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. so we can clean the hostel; we also ask to not make any noise after 11 p.m. so we can let our guests relax in peace.
On the start of the street that leads to the Museum dell'Accademia (Academy Gallery where Michelangelo's David is housed), Academy hostel is on the first floor of the 17th Century palace that was the true residence of 'barone' Ricasoli and from here it's possible to reach any interesting venue or tourist location in Florence with a short walk.
ROOMS
Cheap accommodation in Florence shouldn't compromise on comfort. The city is a busy and hectic place so it's important for us at Academy Hostels to do as much as possible to ensure our guests can get a comfortable night sleep. You will find the Academy Hostels amazingly quiet for being located in the center of Florence but at the same time, for the ones who want to enjoy Florence nightlife, you will find restaurants,bars, clubs and the best spots in town within a few minutes walking distance.
The Academy Hostels is a rather small Hostel and can welcome 30 guests. Our well-maintained dormitory rooms with just 2 to 6 beds (no bunk beds) makes a very familiar and friendly environment.
All rooms are air conditioned and have lockers for your valuables. WI-FI connection, free usage of computers in the lobby and all bed linen is provided free of charge. Here you will find a comfortable furniture lobby with a LCD wide screen TV for the ones that want a little relaxation and to meet people from all over the world.

Cathy stayed here on 16th August 2010 My few days here could not have been better. The hospitality has been gratifying after some time on th eroad. This is a place one looks forward to returning to at any time of the day. Kocation makes this easier. Staff could not be more helpful. There is so much over and abouve an da personal approach to ensure every detail is taken care of with good follow up. An exmplar hostel. Congratulations and gtatitude to staff and owners. I found this place by word of mouth and will spread the word! |

The only problem we had was that the man in the reception of the morning was tough to ask us to leave the hostel because it is closed for cleaning. It was a rainy day and we had gone for Raincoats for a moment and he treated us really bad (yelling) We had not even noticed before to justify his attitude ... |

Staff were super friendly, lovely open plan common area, no long corridors, really nice little touches like a portable bedside light and free earplugs. Free evening food and wine. Owner took us all out to a great great restaurant for a huge discount. So friendly and had a real community feel. Really clean, spacious and well decorated dorms. Gutted we only got one night. You'd be mad not to stay here. |
