Tour Itinerary
A special adventure awaits you on our excursion to the Eagle´s Nest. Leaving Mirabell Square we cross the Salzach river using the main city bridge, passing alongside the baroque old city. Then along the Alpenstrasse to the old border crossing at Marktschellenberg. Through scenic farm villages we will then arrive at the Obersalzberg and the hightlight of this journey, the Eagle´s Nest which we shall reach by means of a coach and elevator. The coach trip from the Obersalzberg to the Eagle´s Nest takes about 20 minutes.
During the journey you will have a magnificant view up to the "Hoher Göll" and across the towering, snowcapped peaks of the Bavarian mountains. The elevator (length 365ft) will take you up to the Eagle´s Nest (5000 ft). The contented faces at the end of this trip are living proof that it is a very worthwile excursion. Before returning to Salzburg we stop in the town of Berchtesgaden, enabling you to perhaps enjoy a Bavarian delicacy.

50 years ago, in the heart of Salzburg, a small company named 'Kleinbusse Mirabell' was founded. They offered a shuttle service up on the Gaisberg. 1965 Salzburg was the scenery of a film which should become famous: 'The Sound of Music' starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Our busses were used by the film crew and our limousines carried the stars. After the release of the film, many fans came to Salzburg asking the original sites - and our drives could naturally guide them. That's how the 'Original Sound of Music Tour' started.
Stefan and Johannes Herzl, both of them already guides for Salzburg Panorama Tours during their student's time, have been leading the company for 12 years now with growing success. The former small transportation company turned out into a internationally oriented sightseeing- and service-company.
