Our company (Albus) was involved in the making of the film guaranteeing you first hand information on our most unique Sound of Music tour. Maria took our bus - how about you?
Relive with us the true story of the von Trapp family which was filmed as the “Sound of Music” in the Salzburg area. The tour has been Salzburg’s most popular tour for over 20 years and is a combination of this historical city itself and the beautiful Lakes & Mountains area.
We show you the highlights and film locations:
Palace of Leopoldskron: the family had pink lemonade on the terrace where Baroness Schröder and Maria danced with the Baron on the balcony. The children and Maria were on the boat and fell into the water of this lake.
The gazebo at the Palace of Hellbrunn: Liesl and Rolf sang „I am 16 going on 17“ and Maria and the Baron sang “Something Good”. The gazebo is in the garden of this hunting castle, built in the first half of the 17th century.
The Abbey of Nonnberg: Was used in the movie to perform the song „Maria“ and in the scene when the children came to the gate to ask Maria to return to their home. Maria and the Baron were married here in 1927.
St Gilgen/Lake Wolfgang: Scenery shown at the beginning of the film. The village is situated on the north-west lakeside on the Wolfgangsee. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s mother was born here.
The collegiate church of Mondsee: The enormous church of Mondsee was the scene for the wedding of Maria and the Baron in the movie. Inside this wonderful church Maria, together with Liesl walked down the aisle to meet the Baron on the staircase.
In the evening, enjoy the Sound of Salzburg Show with the Salzburg Sound of Music-Singers!
